The Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple in Indonesia and one of the largest in all of Southeast Asia. Typical of Hindu temple construction, the temple is known for its tall and pointed architectural style and is dedicated to Trimurti, an expression of three Hindu gods. Sadly, much of the temple is in ruins due to looting over the centuries. It is now a protected site and houses the world famous Ramayana ballet, the ancient dance of the Javanese court. The Ramayana has been performed during the full moon since the 1960’s.

For those looking for a party, Kula beach is Bali’s most well known beach and is popular with younger travelers around the world. Because the beach caters to travelers at many income levels and is known for its exciting and relatively inexpensive nightlife and budget accommodations, Kula beach is popular with youth looking for a spring break style holiday.

For those hoping to avoid the raucous youthful atmosphere of Kula beach but still want a beach atmosphere with plenty of culinary and nightlife options, a few miles north is Seminyak beach. A bit hipper and classier than Kula beach, Seminyak beach offers travelers upscale dining and nightlife that is hard to match anywhere else in Bali. However, all of that luxury comes with a price and travelers should expect to pay a bit more for their experiences.
